A 9 month old intact male Jaguar (Panthera onca) on a diet of raw meat with no mineral supplementation was presented for pelvic limb lameness, paraparesis, pain and irritable behavior. Nutritional secondary hyperparathyroidism was suspected. Nutritional supplementation with calcium and vitamin D was given and Tui-na (an oriental massage therapy) was prescribed for pain control and rehabilitation of function. After mineral supplementation and five Tui-na sessions over a seventeen day period the animal had recovered 95% of function and the pain and irritability were gone. This case illustrates the use of Tui-na as an adjunct for pain control and rehabilitation in a non-domesticated species.
