A novel therapy using Tendon/Ligament Formula, a veterinary specific patent Chinese herbal formula, in combination with prolotherapy was used over a period of 7 months to successfully resolve bilateral forelimb valgus angular deformity in a six-month-old male, castrated Bactrian camel. Pictures of the forelimbs were taken before initiation of treatment and after each prolotherapy session to document the effects and progress of treatment and the long-term results of therapy. The results of this case study indicate that prolotherapy and Chinese herbal medicine may be effective for treatment of angular limb deformities secondary to tendon-ligament weakness in camels, foals and other quadrupeds when conservative management fails. Additional study is warranted to evaluate the potential therapeutic benefits of this treatment.
