Abstract

Signalment: 6 yr male neutered Greyhound 31.2 kg; Primary complaint: Referred to the University of Florida Veterinary Medical Center (UFVMC) for difficulty rising, a stiff stilted gait, polyuria, and polydipsia. He also had mental confusion, visual deficits and was having frequent nightmares associated with growling, teeth baring and violent limb movements during sleep. Many of these signs had been present when he was adopted by his current family one year ago but his ability to get up and walk had been becoming worse.
