Signalment: A 6 year old male neutered German Shepherd; Primary complaint: Uncontrolled intermittent seizures for the past 4 years. History: This German Shepherd presented with a four year history of seizures suspected to be due to idiopathic epilepsy. The seizures had not been well controlled by KBr and Phenobarbital therapy and despite treatment were continuing to occur once every 7-10 days. He had had magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of his head, cerebrospinal (CSF) analysis, CBC and serum biochemistries and no problems had been found except for a low T4.
