Long-term follow-up of Seizures in Three Horses Treated with Chinese Herbal Therapy

Abstract

Seizures in three horses due to Internal Wind from chronic Liver Blood deficiency, Liver Yin deficiency or Liver Qi stagnation were treated with Chinese herbal medicine. Formulas used included Bu Xue Xi Feng San, Yang Yin Xi Feng and Tian Ma Plus II, which clear Internal Wind and resolve seizures. This report documents the successful treatment of seizures and seizure-like activity in the equine with Chinese herbal medicine with 6 months, 3 years and 4 years case follow up.
