Homeosiniatry In Veterinary Practice

Sagiv Ben-Yakir BSc, DVM, MRCVS

Abstract

According to TCVM, imbalances are manifested as states of abundance (Excess) or emptiness (Deficiency) at certain acupuncture points. Unbalanced acupuncture points show increased sensitivity and a specific symptomatology. Identical locations and the same symptomatology have been found for the past two hundred years by homeopaths in Germany, France and other countries. Homeosiniatry is a diagnostic and therapeutic approach that combines both TCVM and Homeopathic concepts. The current practice of homeosiniatry is to inject sterile homeopathic remedies (diluted and potentized in 0.9% saline) into acupuncture points. Homeopathic remedies are injected as part of the concept of modern homeosiniatry and may be integrated with other forms of treatment. They may also be injected when an oral homeopathic remedy is insufficient to achieve improvement and other local therapeutic efforts such as acupuncture/pressure, homeopathic creams, osteopathy, physiotherapy, injections of allopathic remedies, and/or surgery alone have failed to improve the animal’s condition or other local efforts must be stopped because of major side effects (e.g. as with corticosteroids). The common homeopathic remedies injected into specific acupuncture points and their effects are reviewed.
