Changes for the American Journal of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine

Judith Saik DVM, DACVP

Abstract

“The only constant in life is change”. Although challenging, change encourages growth. Whether it is living beings or organizations, there is a natural progression from infancy to maturity. As the clinical use of traditional Chinese veterinary medicine (TCVM) in private veterinary clinics and institutional veterinary medical centers has matured around the world, so has the American Journal of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (AJTCVM). It’s early mission, to impart knowledge in journal format to support this new therapeutic modality in the United States, was created by veterinary acupuncturists, Dr. Cheryl Chrisman, Dr. Carolina Medina and Dr. Huisheng Xie, faculty of the Acupuncture Service at the University of Florida Veterinary Medical Center. Initially, case reports, clinical studies and a few basic science studies were published as veterinarians gained increased clinical competency.
