Asthma is a disease of the lungs which may be on the rise in cats partly due to toxic pollutants and other environmental causes. From a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) perspective, asthma in cats may be associated with emotional issues as well as Excess and Deficiency patterns. A TCM approach to this disease is presented using pattern recognition, selection of appropriate acupuncture points and Chinese herbal medicine.
