Ren Shen Ge Jie San (Ginseng and Gecko Powder) is a tonic Chinese herbal formula that contains an animal product, Ge Jie (Gecko). The original source for this formula is from Wei Sheng Bao Jian (Precious Mirror of Health) by Luo Tian-Yi in the Yuan Dynasty.1 Ren Shen Ge Jie San tonifies Qi, clears Lung heat, drains Damp, stops cough, and relieves wheezing. Ren Shen Ge Jie San is primarily used to treat chronic asthma or bronchitis caused by Lung and Kidney deficiencies, with Phlegm-Heat in the Lung.
